Profile: Tim DeBiase

Tim DeBiase brings over 15 years of comprehensive first responding experience to our training programs, combining extensive field operations with a passion for education and professional development. His diverse background spans volunteer and municipal fire services, providing him with unique insights into the challenges and best practices across different emergency response environments.

Tim began his fire service career as a volunteer with the Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect, where he advanced to the rank of Training Officer, developing his foundational skills in both emergency response and firefighter education. His commitment to emergency medical services led him to spend five years with a busy commercial ambulance service, where he gained valuable experience in high-volume emergency medical response and patient care.

Building on his volunteer foundation, Tim served six years with the Naugatuck Fire Department, where his dedication and leadership abilities earned him promotion to the rank of Lieutenant. Currently, he serves as a Firefighter with the Bridgeport Fire Department, where he has been stationed for the past two years. He is presently assigned to Ladder 5 out of Headquarters, operating in one of Connecticut’s most active fire departments.

Tim maintains an impressive array of professional certifications that directly enhance his training capabilities, including Firefighter 2, Fire Service Instructor 2, Hazmat Operations, Pump Operator, Confined Space Rescue Technician, and Fire Officer 1. His Fire Service Instructor 2 certification, combined with his extensive operational experience, positions him as an exceptional educator who can bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application.

His breadth of experience across volunteer and municipal fire services provides Tim with a comprehensive understanding of emergency services that few instructors can match. This diverse background enables him to deliver training that is both technically sound and practically relevant to firefighters at all levels of their careers.
